TDA SEN Portal

Brunel University, under the leadership of Prof Marilyn Leask, won a Teacher Development Agency (TDA) bid to breath new life into the TDA Special Educational Needs (SEN) Portal. As part of that work, Core Education were asked to take responsibility for the Innovation Strand of work.

Sarah Jones spent two months assessing the portal, consulting stakeholders and creating a list of recommendations for improvements to the portal.


Following a series of workshops with teachers, teacher trainers and trainee teachers, which focused on ICT tools for Future Teachers and ICT tools for support ongoing learning of professionals across the education sector, a detailed a specification of ICT tools which aid ongoing learning was produced and this helped to inform further discussions key stakeholders from the sector around the Innovations that practitioners would like to see online.
