Richard keynotes at the National Gallery of Ireland

The annual conference of the Art Teachers Association of Ireland invited Richard Millwood to speak about the role of Art teachers in teaching computational thinking.
The presentation made in collaboration with Richard's colleague, friend and PhD student Mags Amond, discussed Computers and learning, Computers and art, making artefacts with light emitting diodes (LEDs) and coin batteries and the work that Richard and Mags had been involved in over the previous two years in Wearable Electronics and programmed embroidery. One highlight was a painting made by Richard in school according to an algorithm (recipe) provided by his teacher. Richard has updated this with a Snap program to revive that work. The slides presented can be viewed and commented on here: LED by the Heart.
