Owers
Lecture 2004 |

Dr Stan Owers
The Owers Lecture was initiated in 2004 by Prof Stephen Heppell, the founder and director of Ultralab, to celebrate Stan's achievement and to maintain the debate about the vital issues he raised.
Ultralab
was the learning technology research centre at Anglia Ruskin
University from 1990 - 2006.
The lecture is now supported and maintained by Core Education UK under the direction of Richard Millwood, former head of Ultralab from 2005-2006. |
Dr.
Stan Owers has, since 1995, been researching the perception of
technology in society and education, and concludes that our culture
fails to recognise its importance.
On
24th February 2004, the inaugural Owers Lecture took place in
front of an appreciative audience.
We
expect another lecture in the series in February 2005 - watch
this space!
